Frequently asked Questions

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No, you do not. Utah is a Direct Access state. This means you can skip the process of seeing a physician and go see a Physical Therapist directly for your problem.

What types of health insurance do you accept?

We do not accept any kind of insurance for a variety of reasons. The biggest reason is I want to work with you, to you get you better the best way we can. Not accepting insurance gives me the freedom to practice and treat you the best way I know how with a tailored experience for you, your needs, your schedule, your finances, and not some cheap untailored non-specific prescription to save the insurance company money. You may receive, if requested, what is called a Super-Bill, it’s like an invoice or receipt. Which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement depending on your individual plan. Most insurances will reimburse anywhere from 50%-80% of what you pay. You should check with your insurance regarding any specific questions and your plan. As a medical expense, you can also use your HSA or FSA account to pay for physical therapy services. We accept payment through cash, check, credit card, HSA/FSA card, bitcoin or crypto and other digital payment platforms. For more information as to the benefit of going with a provider who is not in network with your insurance click HERE.

Do you take Medicare/Medicaid?

At this time, it is illegal to pay cash for traditional PT services if you already have Medicare or Medicaid. However, you can pay cash for services that Medicare currently does not cover; for example: dry needling, concierge visits, sport specific training, wellness services. Also, you can refuse to have Medicare billed for services if you expressly say up front that Medicare not billed or involved in your Physical Therapy. Talk with the provider regarding whether you can have cash PT and your personal circumstances during a free consultation.
